HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA
Where all your hard work and dedication pay off!
In HS you compete at the All-State level, bringing recognition to yourself and your school. “It’s all about the music.” You play the music of the masters: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Stravinsky; also popular music; jazz, rock and more. HS orchestras go on overnight trips to competitions in San Antonio, Galveston and Corpus Christi. Picnics, banquets, field trips, and concerts are all part of your life in orchestra.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Most colleges offer scholarships to string players. A symphony orchestra requires about 50 strings players but just one oboe.
PARENTS
Orchestra is single blocked in high school. Other subjects like band and athletics are double blocked using up your child’s electives
